A 48-year-old man from Gudja is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Cospicua, early yesterday morning.

The police said the incident took place in Coronation Street at 6.30 a.m. The man was hit by a Suzuki Alto driven by a 20-year-old man from Cospicua.

His condition was said to have stabilised during the day but later he took a turn for the worse and was again in critical condition.

The police are investigating.
