Maltese voluntary workers in Tunisia met by ambassador
A group of young Maltese carrying out voluntary work with 92 children in Tunis, animated a mass attended by Ambassador Vicki Ann Cremona and Kurt Vella Fonde from the Embassy of Malta in Tunis.
The group later spent a pleasant evening discussing their work with embassy officials at the ambassador's residence.
The Maltese volunteers are teaching children English and crafts. They have been going to Tunisia for three years and were now so popular that the number of children interested were more than they could cater for.
The Maltese group, made up of university students, civil servants and persons working in the private sector, are spending three weeks at La Goulette, which was formerly run exclusively by Maltese priests.
In fact, the church contains a mural painting of ‘Il-Madonna ta' Pinu' and a painting of Our Lady of Mellieħa.
The embassy staff will be assisting the group during their stay in Tunisia.
Photo shows ambassador Cremona with the group of Maltese youths next to the painting of ‘Il-Madonna ta’ Pinu’.

The work of diplomats is rarely ever appreciated. People doing any kind of work abroad is usually treated in the same manner. A lot of people seem to think that boarding a plane means vacation and nothing else. Good luck to everyone in the picture and its immediate surroundings:)

Well done guys! It has always been a lovely experience joining you in the previous editions! The children are full of enthusiasm about it all! I'm sure you're doing brilliantly this year!
