Two black box recorders have been recovered from a Tupolev aircraft that crashed in Iran yesterday, killing all 168 people on board, Iranian television reported today.

Press TV, Iran's state English-language television station, said the cause of the crash was still unknown. The aircraft was on its way to Armenia's capital Yerevan from Tehran when it came down 16 minutes after take-off.

"Iran has recovered two black boxes from the passenger plane that crashed in the northwest of the country," its presenter said, giving no further details.
