Immigration Officers have been instructed by their union to wash their hands every 10 minutes.

The union said that it has been requesting the necessary protection against the A(H1N1) virus for immigration officers at Malta International Airport as soon as the first cases of A(H1N1) were announced in Malta.

But although a number of weeks had now passed, these workers were not given any protection although other workers were.

The union said its directive was to remain effective until the management accepted its request for antibacterial handwash at the arrivals and departures cabins.
