Deloitte Malta recently held a dress down day for staff to raise funds for the Daniel Delicata Memorial Association, set up by Steven and Maria Delicata in memory of their son.

The association aims to improve the quality of life of sick children and is inspired by the plight of young patients who like Daniel needed to spend time in the paediatric wards in Malta's state hospitals.

Deloitte staff made a nominal donation to wear casual attire at the office for a day.

The proceeds went towards four Playstation 2 sets.

Deloitte Malta managing partner Paul Mercieca presented the consoles to Maria Delicata.

The association has procured other Playstation sets in the past and is currently in discussion with hospital officials, including engineers, to start installing equipment in all the children's wards that will enable all the Playstations to be set up with each bed.

The Daniel Delicata Memorial Association had already installed some of this equipment in Fairyland ward at St Luke's Hospital and is in the process of starting to install others in the Disneyland wing.
