A new Ryanair service between Malta and Madrid was launched today, and the low-cost airline will be giving out a million seats at €1. The €1 seats are to Trapani.
The service will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ryanair spokesman Ida Buonanno said the Madrid service was the 10th route from the island. "For the occasion we are offering one million €1 flights up for grabs (inclusive of taxes & charges). It has never been easier to escape for a well deserved break to Madrid and many other destinations with Ryanair offering the guaranteed lowest fares across Europe."
The offer is available for booking until midnight on Friday.
The Malta Tourism Authority in a statement said Ryanair's inaugural flight from Madrid had a load factor of over 87%.
Commenting on the inauguration of this new route, Malta Tourism Authority chairman, Sam Mifsud, said that air accessibility to Malta was the lifeblood of the tourism industry. That was why the MTA was very pleased to welcome Ryanair's new route to Malta
"Moreover, the Madrid route further strengthens our air link with the Iberian peninsula, wherein Spain is fast becoming one of our key source markets".
