The police said this afternoon that autopsies carried out today showed that Tamara Psaila, 24, of Zabbar who died while diving off Qawra yesterday morning, had drowned.
Tania Spiteri, 26 of Cospicua, who died while on a boat of St George's Bay had suffered pulmonary oedema, according to preliminary results, and more tests will be carried out.
Tamara Psaila (picture) died during a trial dive held as part of a fund raising event for Dar tal-Providenza. She had been in a group of four first-time divers accompanied by an instructor and an experienced diver. She was spotted on the seabed just two metres from the surface by the instructor. She was without her oxygen regulator and her oxygen tank and jacket were also detached.
Investigations are continuing.
