Jailed for Pembroke burglary

Christopher Shepherd, 38, of Victoria, has been jailed for 20 months after admitting to stealing a number of household items from a house in Pembroke, damaging the property and relapsing.

The accused had paid the victim €60 for a DVD player that he had taken. He is currently under preventive arrest for other offences.

After taking into consideration Mr Shepherd's early guilty plea, Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna jailed him for 18 months. The prosecution and defence teams had discussed and agreed on the punishment.
