I was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital a few days ago to undergo urgent heart surgery. Ironically, it was the big heart of my carers that was what really mattered to me throughout my week-long stay there.

The consultant, the medics, the nurses and all staff at the Cardiac Surgical Ward and CICU were there any time I needed their attention and services. Indeed, they went well beyond their call of duty and this, I can safely say, applies to all the other patients I shared the wards with. I have lived abroad for a long time and I can compare and contrast. Mater Dei and the service offered are second to none. A similar comment was made by a British gentleman who suffered a heart attack while holidaying in Malta. He said he was thankful it happened here and not in the UK!

No words can suffice to express my gratitude towards all those who gave me so much care and attention while at Mater Dei Hospital. May God bless them all.
