The German club's sporting director Jochen Schneider is believed to have met with Huntelaar's agent Arnold Oosterver last Thursday.

Real Madrid: Udinese have confirmed they are in negotiations with Real Madrid for the transfer of Gaetano D'Agostino. The 27-year-old midfielder is a target for Juventus but Real are now favourites to secure his signature. "I confirm that they (Real) are interested," Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo said. Mbia: Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia said yesterday he has agreed terms with Marseille after rejecting an offer from Stoke City. However, following a meeting with Marseille officials on Friday, Mbia has revealed a deal has been agreed with the French giants.

Iwelumo: Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo will miss the start of the English Premier League season after breaking a bone in his foot in a pre-season match in Australia. The 30-year-old Scottish international limped off the field early in the match on Friday after a clash with Perth Glory midfielder Jacob Burns. Wolves beat the A-league club 1-0. "It was purely an accident but Chris has broken his metatarsal," Wolves coach Mick McCarthy said.
