Neptunes Vodafone are currently with their tails up.

Two successive victories, each with an eight-goal margin, and a cantering epilogue in both matches helped them to effectively close the match in the second part of the game yesterday as they did against San Ġiljan three days before.

This will definitely boost their ego as the battle for the National League title will certainly intensify.

Again the Reds were super charged and fully focused on doing their job. This, they carried out effectively and in a masterful way as coach Paolo Malara made judicious rotation of most of the men at his disposal.

And this time they had two important cogs in their machine who were absent when the same two sides met two weeks ago - Niki Lanzon and Karl Galea.

Apart from goal-scoring catalyst, Steve Camilleri, who netted six times, there was his younger brother Jordan who slotted in a hat-trick. Leonardo Sottani was all over the place with his experience coming in very useful while Aliosa Kunac and Edward Cachia were always in the thick of the frame.

Sirens had no answer to the smooth inter-play and deadly man-up scoring accuracy of their opponents and were completely submerged under a deluge of goals. What a volte face from their last outing against the Reds when the northerners won 9-5!

Winning the first two sessions 6-2 and 5-2, Neptunes had a great take-off and then opted to ease off slightly.

The tone had already been set, even if a 4-4 scoreline in the third quarter and a 2-1 reading in favour of the Reds in the last part of the game extended Neptunes' victory margin from seven to eight goals after the rout in the opening sessions.
