Obituary
ATTARD. On July 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, Lt. Col. William Joseph Attard, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Helma, née Gollcher, his daughter Wilhelmina and her husband Michele Sottile, his sons George Olof and his wife Anita and Martyn, his grandchildren, Michela and her husband Giovanni Rubino, Alessandro, Alan and Ana, and his great-granddaughter Martina, his sole surviving sister Carmelina Axisa, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
BRAND. On July 5, PAUL, from the Netherlands, aged 88, passed away peacefully at his residence in Xlendi. He leaves to mourn his loss his family members, family Gatt and many friends in Malta and Gozo. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 3.45 p.m. for Munxar parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment at St Mary's Cemetery, Victoria. No flowers by request but donations to Alka Respite Centre, Għajnsielem, Gozo will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
MAMO. On July 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, MICHAEL of Valletta, aged 79, residing in Pietà passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Pauline, his children Philip, Simon and his wife Nina, Mark and his wife Kirsten, his grandchildren Odin, Shawn, Ġanni, Leon-Vito and André, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Fatima parish church, Guardamangia, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Mission Fund barbecue
The Mission Fund will hold a barbecue on July 18 at 8 p.m. at the Girls' Secondary School in Ferris Street, Rabat. Tickets cost €12 for adults and €6 for children and are available by calling Charles Decelis on 2157 5351 or Sylvia Ebejer on 2143 5968. Proceeds will go towards the building of a centre for children and maintaining a hospital run by local nuns in Tanzania.
Book donation
The European Institute of Education has donated a range of management books to the Mellieħa local council. The books will be available to the public. To date, the institute has donated more than €35,000 worth of books to non-governmental organisations, local councils and companies.
Club donation
The Floriana boċċi club has donated over €2,000 to Inspire, the Eden and Razzett Foundation. The money was raised during a fund-raising barbecue.
Ordination anniversary
Mass will be celebrated on July 19 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima parish church in Guardamangia to mark the 40th anniversary of the ordination of Archbishop Paul Cremona and Mgr George Frendo, Bishop of Tirana in Albania.
