Two arrested over drugs
Hours of surveillance by the police Drugs Squad paid off when officers made two separate arrests after seizing a considerable amount of cannabis resin and cocaine.
A Nigerian man, 36, was caught with 50 capsules containing 500 grams of cocaine, shortly after walking out of an apartment in Qawra on Wednesday, the police said.
Another 25 capsules containing 250 grams of cocaine were found in the apartment, the police said.
The man lives in Spain and holds a Spanish passport.
On the same day, a 26-year-old Maltese man was arrested when he was allegedly caught with 1.75 kilograms of cannabis resin and 200 grams of cocaine in Birkirkara.
