The other morning I had the privilege to witness the love and dedication for stray animals shown by Noah's Ark's Fabio Ciappara and his dedicated team.

A dog, which had been abandoned, lay exhausted under the pavement of a busy street.

People walked past, indifferent to its pain.

However, as soon as I rang up Mr Ciappara of Noah's Ark, he immediately promised to help and in a few minutes, his animal ambulance was on the scene. Unfortunately, the dog, which seemed to have been traumatised by whoever had abandoned it to its fate, scampered away as soon as we approached. But this did not deter the driver of the ambulance (unfortunately I did not ask for his name).

He phoned the Animal Welfare Unit and explained the situation.

He informed the person at the other end that he was afraid the dog would be killed by a passing car.

The person at the animal Welfare Unit promised to help and pick up the stray.

I had to leave as I had other commitments but once again I would like to thank Mr Ciappara and his dedicated team for their response.

I must also include the other animal welfare NGOs that are doing sterling work with stray dogs and cats in spite of huge financial and material difficulties. Once again, a huge well done to all.
