(FK Mogren win 6-0 on aggregate)

Hibernians's adventure in the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League came to an end last night after the Malta champions suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of FK Mogren.

The Montenegro champions completed a 6-0 aggregate win to set up a second qualifying round meeting with Danish champions FC Copenhagen.

After last week's 2-0 defeat in the first leg at the Centenary Stadium, the odds were heavily staked against the Paolites to complete an unlikely comeback. Hibs had started brightly yesterday but two quick goals late in the first half dashed their flickering hopes. Mogren added two further goals after the interval to complete a memorable debut in the Champions League.

Hibs coach Mark Miller was forced to make one change in his starting formation as Uruguayan midfielder Christian Callejas was not included in the 18-man squad. His place was taken by Jonathan Pearson. Terrence Scerri was still out but Bulgarian midfielder Rumen Galabov declared himself fit enough to start on the bench.

Early on, Andrew Cohen was a constant threat for Mogren with his darting runs. The Malta forward twice threatened in the opening 10 minutes but failed to hit the target.

Hibs looked in control in the early stages with Mogren rarely troubling Mario Muscat in the Hibs goal. In fact the hosts had to wait until the 32nd minute for their first attempt at goal when Belada's shot finished just wide.

Nine minutes from the break, Miller sent on Galabov in place of Pearson.

However, it was Mogren who struck twice in quick succession. Bojo Milic scored the opener before Petar Gibic added a second in time added on.

After the interval, Mogren withdrew scorer Milic and team playmaker Milan Rakic but that made little difference as they added a third goal six minutes into the second half through Marko Cetkovic.

Mogren eased the tempo but still managed to score a fourth nine minutes from time when Gibic netted his second of the evening.

Mogren: I. Janjusevic, L. Pejovic, Z. Belada, J. Simovic, P. Grbic, D. Bozovic, G. Jovanovic, M. Rakic ('46 B. Kalejic), B. Milic ('46 L. Tiodorovic), I. Stojakovic ('69 B. Bozovic), M. Cetkovic.

Hibernians: M. Muscat, J. Caruana, E. Herrera, A. Pulis, A. Xuereb, J. Pearson ('35 R. Galabov), A. Cohen, M. Cvetic, R. Mintoff, B. Camilleri ('72 E. Cauchi), R. Camilleri ('64 L. Grech).
