Obituary
ATTARD. On July 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, Lt Col William Joseph Attard, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Helma, née Gollcher, his daughter Wilhelmina and her husband Michele Sottile, his sons George Olof and his wife Anita and Martyn, his grandchildren, Michela and her husband Giovanni Rubino, Alessandro, Alan and Ana, and his great-granddaughter Martina, his sole surviving sister Carmelina Axisa, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BERRY. On July 7, EMANUEL of San Ġwann (ex-Ship Repair Manager, Malta Drydocks), aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Susan, née Azzopardi, his daughter Mariella, wife of Karl Hoekstra, his son Stefan-John and his grandson Nikolai-Emanuel, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives, ex-colleagues and friends. Change in concert venue
The piano concert by leading Maltese pianist Clifford Borg, which was to be held at the historical St John's Demi-Bastions in the Cittadella, will be held at the Gozo Ministry's exhibition hall.
The concert, which will be held tomorrow at 8.15 p.m. will also feature Gozitan vocalist Miriam Christine Borg.
Wignacourt Tower late night opening
Din l-Art Ħelwa will be celebrating a Lejla Pawlina on Saturday when the Wignacourt Tower at St Paul's Bay will be open from 8 to 10 p.m.
Volunteers of the organisation will be conducting guided tours every half hour and visitors can enjoy the spectacular night view from the roof of the tower over to St Paul's islands.
The tower was the first sentinel built by Grand Master Wignacourt in 1610. It hosts an exhibition of the fortifications around Malta and Gozo. The special entrance fee is €1 per person. Members of Din l-Art Ħelwa and children under 16 enter free.
Archbishop to meet missionaries
Archbishop Paul Cremona will be meeting Maltese missionaries who are on holiday in Malta for the summer months.
The meeting, the 31st of its kind, will take place on July 16 at 5 p.m. at Dar l-Emigrant in Valletta.
All missionaries are invited and urged to attend to share their experiences with the Archbishop and their colleagues. To confirm attendance, call Dar l-Emigrant on 2122 2644, 2124 0255 or 2123 2545.
Exhibition of models
The Valletta Waterfront will be hosting an exhibition of handcrafted models including boats, warships, cars, vans and trucks.
The exhibition will be held on Sunday and is organised jointly by the Valletta Waterfront and the Diecast and Scale Model Society.
It will be open for viewing between 10.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m. Entrance is free and will be through the chapel.

Appreciation to Mr Emanuel Berry ex-Ship Reair Manager Malta Drydocks.
As an ex-Malta Drydocks employee I send my condolences to the
familyof one of our colleagues at the Malta Drydocks - Mr. Emanuel
Berry or as he was better known as Mr. Berry. I still remember those
days when we used to be duty on a ship and he was in charge of
the repair of the said ship. He used to joke with us Security and all
the workers. He will still be remembered for those glorious days
as a Manager on board ships. May he rest in peace after all those
working days to help his family. Sur Berry hope we will meet again.
