A 45-year-old man yesterday admitted to groping a 17-year-old colleague at their workplace in a St Julians hotel and was given three years' probation for his indiscretion.
Before the arraignment took place, Police Inspector Trevor Micallef and defence lawyer Marion Camilleri discussed the case with Magistrate Edwina Grima at the bench.
The court then ordered everyone out of the court room to hear the case behind closed doors. The publication of names has been prohibited.
The incident took place last Sunday.
Magistrate Grima placed the accused under probation for three years after taking into consideration that he was a first-time offender.
