Drug finds lead to two arrests

Two men have been arrested following cannabis and cocaine finds, the police said.

They said 750 grammes of cocaine were found in Qawra in the possession of a 36-year-old man born in Nigeria but ordinarily resident in Spain.

He was carrying half a kilo of cocaine in 50 capsules. Another 25 capsules with 250 grammes of cocaine were found in an apartment the police saw him coming out from.

The police said that they started working on the case when they were informed that the apartment was being used to hide drugs.

The other find, consisting of 1.75 kilogrammes of cannabis and 200 grammes of cocaine, was in the home of a 26-year-old from Birkirkara. The police had been investigating for some days.

Magisterial inquiries are being held.

Just last week a Maltese man just got 11 years after PLEADING guilty to having 56 grams. We will see what this Nigerian/Spaniard will get. Hopefully his sentence IF found guilty would be a lot greater than 11 years. Due to the fact that this drug bust was more than 20 times larger.

Police officers concerned should be congratulated and thanked for their sterling work, sometimes not without risks. They are protecting particularly our young people.
