Excellent treatment from a true professional

I was utterly surprised by the report about consultant Massimo Abela's alleged conduct (July 4).

My family and I have been treated by this very excellent physician on several occasions and have always found him to be professional in his conduct and always friendly and very helpful in any way.

We have been to him many times, at the state hospital and also privately, and he has never treated us any differently.

Dr Abela is, in my opinion, a professional. He does not jump on a chance to make a quick buck by sending his patients to perform unnecessary tests but likes to advise the patient to weather the pain for a while as it will pass. On many occasions, this indeed has been the case! I for one would recommend Dr Abela's services to anyone knowing that they will get fair and excellent treatment.

Unfortunately, in today's society people can be very quick to point fingers, thus harming a person's reputation for no reason. We have become the type of people to sue a fly for landing on our plate.

Roll on Dr Abela, keep up the good work, we are all behind you!
