Valletta will be looking to emulate their five-star performance in last week's home match when they square up to Keflavik in the second leg tomorrow (kick-off 9.15 p.m.).

The Citizens are favourites to reach the second qualifying round after beating the Icelandic team 3-0 in the first leg but they can ill-afford to be complacent as Keflavik will be determined to make up for their disappointing display at the Centenary Stadium.

Ton Caanen is confident that his team will approach the game in the right frame of mind.

"I don't see why we should be overconfident but there's no point hiding that we have a good chance of going through," Caanen told The Times/timesofmalta.com.

Having flown into Keflavik in the early hours of today, the City players were given time off in the afternoon to recover from the long journey. This evening, the squad trained at Keflavik's stadium, the venue of the match.

Although Valletta are in the driving seat, Caanen has made it clear that he has no intention of instructing his team to defend. The Dutchman will stick to 4-3-3 and the same players who impressed in the 3-0 win over Keflavik at the Centenary Stadium.

Caanen has no injury problems for the game. The winner of the Valletta-Keflavik tie will play Irish team St Patrick's in the next round.
