Two men have died in a traffic accident at Council of Europe Road, Luqa.

The accident happened shortly after 6.30 p.m. and involved two cars. The victims - a 52-year-old man from Valletta and a 77-year-old man from Marsa, were in the same car, a red Kia Avella which is thought to have crashed into a tree and then onto another car. a Hyundai Excel being driven in the same direction. The driver of the other car, a 30-year-old woman from Sta Venera, was slightly injured.

Rescuers from the Civil Protection Department were called to release the victims from the wreckage. The road was closed as a result of the incident.
