The prominent statue of the De Vilhena Lion, standing over the Grand Harbour between East Street and Archbishop Street, has been restored to its full majesty by Din l-Art Ħelwa with the support of the Central Bank of Malta. Named after the Grand Master whose coat of arms it bears, this prominent monument suffered bad corrosion due to exposure and environmental pollution. The work by expert conservators Ingrid Ross, James Licari and Frank Chetcuti ensures it can stand proudly again for several generations.
