Malta takes part in All Nations Festival in Berlin

More than 2,000 people visited Malta’s embassy in Berlin last Saturday during an open day as part of the All Nations Festival.

Tourism promotional material about the Maltese islands was distributed, questions on Maltese cultural life were answered and flight logistics to reach the Maltese islands from Berlin were explained. Visitors were also introduced to the possibility of learning English in Malta.

Guests visiting the embassy were entertained to typical Maltese delicacies, prepared by embassy staff, including ‘pastini tal-lewż’, ‘galletti bil-ġobon’ and ‘ħobż biż-żejt’.

One staff member dressed as a knight, introduced visitors to a feature film about the Maltese islands which ran every hour.

An exhibition of Maltese stamps and another featuring the traditional Maltese Faldetta were organised for the occasion.

Raffles were drawn every other hour on a typical Maltese fortune wheel during which those present tried their luck at winning English language courses and week-end breaks in Malta.

Children were given Playmobil token figurines.

Prior to leaving the embassy, visitors were offered give-aways, provided by MTA.

Apart from the Malta Tourism Authority, hotels and English language courses in Malta, the event was also supported by Opodo (a travel portal) - branding the event through their mascot Barbara Schoeneberger - a German talk-show star, actress and singer - in her virtual function as ‘President of OPODIA’.
