Cabin crew accord initialled
Air Malta and the Union of Cabin Crew have initialled a collective agreement ending months of acrimony.
The airline said detailed talks were held for almost two years and the agreement would now have to be approved by the board of directors and union members.
The union said both sides were willing to achieve a "beneficial agreement that paves the way for a harmonious industrial relationship". It said it was satisfied with it and encouraged its members "to offer a loyal sterling service to Air Malta and the travelling public".
It confirmed that improved remuneration had taken into account the airline's requirement to continue with its financial recovery.

I honestly believe that now with such agreement Airmalta took a stand to divide sections and employees, and go against the mission statement , which states,
OUR PEOPLE ARE THE KEY TO OUR SUCCESS
We seek to provide them with EQUAL opportunity for development
We expect our people to be honest, responsible and accountable
We will reward our people commensurately with their contribution
Therefore having read such I ask Airmalta TOP MEN - are the employees still equal... please note that Pilots, Engineers and Cabin Crew took their part, (collective agreement) what about the rest (the loaders, check-in staff, and those at head office)
Will they still have to suffer from freezed wages????

CONGRATULATIONS! To Air Malta, the Union and all Cabin Crew for reaching agreement on your contract. I hope everything returns to normal and the Cabin Crew will be able to provide the excellent service as they always did. To Air Malta and the Union, next time please don't let any contract expire for so long. In any case Cabin Crew, don't forget the PASSENGER, after all he/she deserves some compensation too! They sat there and listened to your negative announcements, now hopefully come the positive ones.

COINGRATULATIONS all round...!!
It is so comforting to read this wonderful news and that the Cabin Crew received what they deserved...
Communications, discussions, and a fair sense should always prevail for all to benefit. Results then are bound to be possitive.
WELL DONE ALL !!
