Pieta' girl to represent Malta at Miss World contest

Shanel Debattista, 22 of Pieta, has been crowned Miss World Malta and will represent Malta at the Miss World International beauty pageant in November in South Africa.

This was the thirteenth edition of the contest, hosted by Modelle International under the organisation of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja.

Sarah Agius came second and Tiffany Pisani, third.

Other titles presented during the final night were:

Best Photogenic Look: Sarah Agius.

Best Personality: Divina Laketic.

Best Physic: Nicole Saliba.

Best Appearance: Shanel Debattista.

The award by televiewers of "D Search for Miss World" went to Victoria Schembri.

Maria Camenzuli won the Beauty with a Purpose award.

Leanne Micallef won the Face of Gwida award.

A total of 29 contestants took part.
