I think that Mr Piano's plans for Valletta are the closest balance that could have been achieved between the different ideas and visions we have collectively put forward.

The fact that the Opera House ruins will live on as a monument and the building of Parliament in Freedom Square is a delicate mixture between the cultural, historical and political needs of our country.

Also, the fact that the buildings themselves are not radically ultra-modern in nature, and that they are not vast mounds of steel and glass, shows a clear sense of sensitivity to the demands of The People.
