Air Malta and the Union of Cabin Crew have initialled a collective agreement, ending months of acrimony.

The two sides in a joint statement did not give details of the agreement, but said that increases in payments had taken into account the airline's requirement to continue with its financial recovery. The union had also agreed to greater flexibility by its members.

The talks were held over a period of 22 months.
