Hertz supports athletes in aid of Inspire

Hertz Malta is supporting the Ironman Team, which is participating in the Austria 2009 challenge today to raise funds in aid of Inspire, the joint venture between the Eden Foundation and Razzett tal-Hbiberija, helping over 1,000 children and adults with learning and physical disabilities.

Hertz Malta will be providing all the mobility requirements in Austria through the Hertz Drive the World Programme, which provides a simple way of renting vehicles worldwide.

The Ironman is one of the toughest international sporting events, spanning some 226km. Over 2,500 competitors from around the world take part in the race which starts with a 3.8km swim, followed by a 180km cycle and then a full marathon run of 42km.

The Maltese team includes Inspire CEO Nathan Farrugia, national triathlon champions Danica Spiteri and Dermot Galea, and national duathlon champion Fabio Spiteri. The rest of the group are also seasoned triathletes competing nationally.

The team members have been preparing for the race for the past six months, dedicating at least 20 hours a week to training.

Donations can be made at www.simplygiving.org.mt/ironmanmaltateam or by texting 'IRONMAN' to 50618926 (€7).
