The police arrested 17 people, aged between 19 and 33, in connection with drug abuse at a party where superstar and DJ Moby played last Sunday.
In all, three women and 14 men, aged between 19 and 33 were arrested, one of them a Spanish national. They were found in possession of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis, the police said yesterday.
These form part of a string of 29 arrests related to drug abuse and trafficking last week.
Arrests were made all over the island, starting early last Sunday afternoon in Hamrun when four people, aged between 25 and 32, and a 23-year-old trafficker, were arrested. The police said they found him in possession of packets of cocaine and heroin ready to be sold.
Other arrests included a 27-year-old Algerian and a 20-year-old Indian who were caught in posession of cannabis.
Later, another three men aged 28 and 32 were arrested in St Lucia over heroin use.
The people arrested are expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days. Police investigations continue.
