Functionality and form inspire design behind Venice on Water

Functionality and form inspires the design behind the recently launched 'floating' marvel Venice on Water.

This project represents the ultimate in Maltese entrepreneurial drive, manufacturing skill and flair for design which will be showcased in Venice.

This floating residence concept is the first of 10, and is expected to be available in Venice from this month. This top quality accommodation will be offered on a timeshare basis.

Carlo and Stefania Schembri, who were entrusted with the interior design of this project, said when they were entrusted with this project they wanted to enable residents to benefit from the functionality of this place, while offering a luxurious lifestyle on board.

"No compromise has been made on the choice of finishing required to make this place a marvel in luxury," Carlo Schembri said. The project was also an important exercise in terms of utilisation of space, in terms of form, functionality and design. In fact, this floating place measures 10 by four-and-a-half metres.

Its consists of two bedrooms, one with ensuite facilities, a separate shower room, a kitchen and living area, a rooftop sun deck and lounge area, a cockpit and a sleeping area for the skipper.

The boat was built by General Maintenance Ltd and is being handled by Malta-based Marketing And Promotion Ltd and Italian partner Floating House.
