GATT. On July 3, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELA of Mosta, widow of Emanuel, aged 93, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Josephine and her husband John Fenech, Paul, Lina, Alfred and his wife Grace, Filomena and her husband Roger Oates, Maria and her husband George Borg, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother and sister, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30 p.m. for Mosta Rotunda parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3 p.m. followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Crèche, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Dinner in aid of diabetics association

A buffet dinner will be held on Friday at the open-air Piazza Marina, Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana, to raise funds for the Maltese Diabetes Association.

About 40,000 Maltese live with diabetes, while others have the condition but are unaware of it. The association's mission is to raise awareness and educate people on this condition and its complications.

National Cinema Day

National Cinema Day is on today at cinemas throughout Malta and Gozo. A ticket costs €3. Wine and songs
