The police turn on the style
The police turned on the style this morning for celebrations marking the 195th anniversary of the founding of the corps.
The Police Precision Drill Team gave a spectacular performance before an appreciative crowd in Freedom Square in Valletta.
Displays were also presented by the police band, the mounted police and the dogs section.
Activities continue tomorrow with Mass for deceased policemen at the Addolorata cemetery chapel. The police band, mounted police, dog section and the drill team will perform at Bugibba at 8.30 p.m.
Video above shows the display this morning, with comments by the commander of the drill team, Inspector Stephen Mallia.

@Dannis Borg
These events are very important PR exercises because they build good community relations and therefore make policing easier. They also inspire self-respect and pride in the force, a source of strength in arduous times, not to mention the fact that these activities facilitate recruitment.
Well done to the police. Very slick.
Keep up the good work!

There didn't seem to be much of a crowd present! hardly seems worth the effort, can't see what good came out of this. Better if the police root out the drug dealers instead of playing with their toys in their shiny uniforms.

Why should the police perform the drill in winter uniform. That's cruelty. An adequate summer uniform for such drill should be introduced.Are the authorities waiting for someone to faint, and then nobody is declared responsible is something serious happened
