Illegal dumping site sealed off

An illegal dumping site for construction waste in Mosta was yesterday sealed off by the planning authority. The garigue site, situated in the area known as Tal-Wej in the limits of the town, was sealed off with concrete blocks and criminal proceedings against those responsible have already been initiated.

The authority similarly stopped illegal water sport activities in Ramla l-Hamra. Assisted by the police, enforcement officers confiscated jet skis, a tent and other related material.

Last week, an illegally constructed pigeon loft in Birkirkara was also removed because it constituted a health hazard and a nuisance to neighbours.
