What a gravy train!

Now that the dust has settled and our MEPs have been duly elected, should we not ask ourselves whether (with the exception of one who has more than proved his worth and shall remain nameless, but his initials are SB ) they have leapt onto the gravy train? For what a gravy train it is.

A €92,000 salary plus a subsistence allowance of €298 a day. From July, there will also be €260 a week travel allowance and an office allowance in addition to a staff pension.

It is now known, thanks to a leaked internal audit by British MEP Chris Davies, that some MEPs pocketed €175,000 last year as office allowance for non-existent staff.

Pass the gravy someone !
