Apologies to Valletta pedestrians
I refer to the article and photo entitled Go Slow (June 29). Enemalta apologises for the inconvenience caused both to pedestrians and to tourists visiting our capital city.
Works in this area have been delayed due to the need to match the new paving tiles to the existing tiles in the surrounding area.
The corporation will replace broken tiles and it assures the public that it is taking utmost care to ensure that the area is restored to its original form. Works should be completed by the beginning of next week.

A 'jab' in the form of media exposure of what apparently amounts to negligence or, at least, lack of foresight, sometimes work wonders, you know!!
When, may I ask, was 'the need to match" the new paving tiles to those existing nearby was first felt? How long did it take to see that the new ones did not match in the first place?
Slowly at it, boys!!
