BARTOLO. On July 2, PAUL, aged 89, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Maria and her husband John Gatt, his brother Manuel and his wife Jane of the US, his sister-in-law Maria, his numerous nephews and nieces in Malta, Australia and the US, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for the Mosta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Mosta cemetery. Grateful thanks to all the staff of M5. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Masses

On the trigesima die of the passing away of Ariadne Axisa, a mass for the repose of her soul will be said at the Jesus of Nazareth church, Sliema, today at 7p.m. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

A Mass for the repose of the soul of MARY DEMARCO, née Borg Costanzi, will be celebrated on July 5 at 11 a.m. at St Joseph School, Blata l-Bajda.

On the fifth anniversary since MONICA GALEA, née Formosa, went to meet the Risen Lord, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said today at 6.45 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel church, Paceville. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Preparations are underway for the Isle of MTV concert at the Floriana granaries on Wednesday, and its stage, which will have to withstand some of international music's heavyweights, has started taking shape. It will be hosting acclaimed artists Black Eyed Peas and Metro Station, dance diva Lady Gaga and budding singer-songwriter Esmée Denters.

Motorcycle ride

A motorcycle charity ride in aid of the Puttinu Cares for Children Fund will be held on July 12 at 8 a.m. from the Police Garage in Notre Dame Ditch, Floriana to Għajn Tuffieħa.
