FA Cup winners Chelsea will be hoping to break ice from the deadly spot next season after failing once more to hold the upperhand in a penalty shoot-out in 2008/09. In fact, the penalty decision against Championship side Burnley was the fifth time in a row Chelsea had finished on the losing end.

Fernando Torres's first goal (game's opener) in Liverpool's 3-2 win at Manchester City is the club's 1,000th in Premier League football.
