Restaurants in coffee table book

The finest restaurants in Malta and Gozo feature in a coffee table book just published to mark the 10th anniversary of the Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta and Gozo.

The Definitive(ly) Best Restaurants In Malta & Gozo was launched at the Luna di Sera in the Gardens of Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar. The restaurants featured, were visually brought to life by one of Malta's most talented photographers, Kurt Arrigo, who captured their ambience and unique personality.

Apart from the restaurants, the book includes a good selection of cuisine ranging from traditional local specialty dishes to a range of international cuisine.

Also included are the chef's favourite recipes. Lisa Grech, managing director of The Definitive(ly) Good Guide Co., said the aim of the new book was to further promote the finest restaurants in Malta and Gozo and also to mark the company's 10th anniversary.

The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta and Gozo, supported by the Malta Tourism Authority, HSBC and Marsovin, was launched 10 years ago to create an objective survey-based guide that allowed the public to choose their favourite restaurants and score them in terms of food, service and ambience, Ms Grech explained. "It today prides itself in being the only objective and best-selling restaurant guide in Malta, which has helped to set new standards in the restaurant industry, bringing the Maltese islands closer to becoming the Gastronomic Centre of the Mediterranean," she said.

Ms Grech said the next restaurant survey will be held this September, the top 150 restaurants making it into the Guide. A number of awards will subsequently be given.

A special Restaurant Gala Dinner Award Ceremony is being planned for this December to mark the anniversary when special prizes will be presented to restaurants that have consistently won awards over the past decade.
