Italian fisherman remanded in custody

Rosolino Paternostro, 48, the master of the Italian fishing boat Maria Salvatrice was remanded in custody today after denying fishing illegally in the Maltese fisheries zone.

His boat was intercepted and brought to Malta by an AFM patrol boat on Monday.

Police Inspector James Grech said AFM soldiers found 22 boxes of different types of fresh fish on the fishing boat.
