Bedingfield appointed head of news at One

Glenn Bedingfield

Former MEP Glenn Bedingfield has been appointed head of news and current affairs at One Productions Ltd, the Labour Party's broadcasting arm.

A graduate of political studies, Mr Bedingfield, 34, will be directly responsible for news and current affairs programmes.

Mr Bedingfield had replaced Joseph Muscat at the European Parliament but failed to get re-elected last month.

Communications graduate Matthew Carbone, 25, is his deputy.

@Galea
I'm glad you share my same thoughts about your open minded arguments.

I'm sorry but for you Net news is impartial and balanced? Do you expect a news bulletin on a political party's private station to be unbiased? To some people it seems that the PN media can say whatever they like but the Labour media have no right to do so because they must be impartial. I'm not surprised that one news stirs so much interest since net news is not watched by anyone!

You're right "so far so good". Labour just got one of the best results ever in history 55% to 41%.

Eh sorry, insejt li dejjem ghandek skuza (favurik) pronta.
Perswaz li kien progett, kont tghidilna, this referes to projects not people.

We can rest assured that as from today One News will have the most balanced and impartial news bulletins on the Island. The newly appointed persons need no introduction!

The choice refers to people nor projects.

The PN, its supporters and apologists have no right to interfere in who is appointed as Head of One News, infact I don't believe they were asked to make any recommendations, and rest assured that Glen's anointment was assigned by none other than the Leader, so far so good. What the Laburisti fail to understand and appreciate is that PN supporters, apologists and the man in the street have a right to their opinions and for that matter our belief is that this appointment isn't a good one. The Laburisti's view of Glen's pedigree of talent and experience is not shared by the PN supporter, will it make a difference to the PL or PN, time will tell, to me it seems a very unstrategic way of trying to woo the moderati to the PL, but of course the Laburisti will reverse that and say that because a PN apologist is saying so than it must be a very startegic move. Who is fooling who?

@Galea L
Tajba Galea, so negative comments by the MLP means the PN made good choices right ? Jew 2 weights and 2 measures ?
A Mamo (on 1/7/09)
Undoubtedly this appointment (Head of ONE News) is a much better choice than Brussels or Strasbourg, I'm sure Glen will have easier choices to make than which button to press.
Deo Catania (on 1/7/09)
@ all gonzipn apologists. Better if you tell us what's going on in the VAT dept. and MEPA. Glenn was given a job within the party's media, what's wrong with that???? He's a journalist after all.
P Spiteri (on 1/7/09)
From a nationalist party viewpoint it is absolutely the right choice, it is in synch with the apppointments of Anglu Farrugia, Alex Sciberras Trigona, Tony Abela, Jason Micallef, Manwel Cuschieri, do I need to spell it out? Needless to say the comeback of Qahbu and il-Qattus are likewise feathers in the PN's cap. Keep working on the coalition, so far so good.

@ P Spiteri: We know who has the 'hbieb tal hbieb' just see how contracts are being given by the government.
Galea. L (on 1/7/09)
Paul Borg
How about applying your comments to the many government boards Paul?
Negative comments from pn apologists mean that the right choice was made.
Good luck Glenn.
P Spiteri (on 1/7/09)
Is it a case of talent and experience or a job 'mill-hbieb ghall-hbieb'.
D Ellul (on 1/7/09)
Experienced and qualified, it's the best choice the Labour Party could have made for head of news. Congratulations Glenn.
Jeffrey Cauchi (on 1/7/09)
An appointment for the right person. Wish you the best of luck Glen!

Joseph Muscat is making use of everyone who's got talent and experience. And Glenn has both.
Congratulations Glenn.

CongratulationsGlenn,well done ONE FOR A VERY GOOD CHOICE.
