Now that the results of the local council elections are known, I feel that I must thank all those Marsascala residents who for the fifth consecutive time have appreciated all that I have done during these years for the benefit of our locality.
I must also thank the mayor and councillors including those who did not contest and those candidates who were not elected. I also congratulate the newly elected councillors from both parties with whom I look forward to working on behalf of residents. Thanks also to my family, friends, members of the PN local committee, local council staff, ministers and parliamentary secretaries who supported me and helped me for all these years. I congratulate also PN councillors Sandro Gatt and Jesmond Mugliett.
As I did in the last 12 years, I will commit myself to ensuring that all the projects earmarked for Marsascala, either by the local council or by the central government, are executed on time. Such projects include the new council offices embrace police station and other offices; the new family park; a new playing field; surfacing of the remaining residential roads. I will do my utmost to see better refuse collection. I would like to see a cleaner promenade, free from garbage, food leftovers and dog litter.
I will be stressing the better use of our tools to reduce overspeeding in certain streets and to curb littering and vandalism.
All this and more can be achieved if we just keep in mind one objective: the well-being of Marsascala and its residents.
