The fiery Puerto Flamenco artistes are back on the island for a show that promises to swing from relentless, artful merrymaking to awe-inspiring solemnity.

For the sixth year running the show, featuring Seville's finest flamenco artistes, will be making a stopover in Malta on Sunday and Monday at the Argotti Gardens, in Floriana, as part of the Malta Arts Festival.

After a busy and successful year of touring Europe, Australia and New Zealand the members of Puerto Flamenco were back in Seville, working on their production Triana 41010.

The work draws a vital spark from the legendary Bohemian suburb of Seville, Triana, which is the cradle of flamenco, toreros and all things Andalusian.

The cast includes the members of the award-winning Eduardo Trassierra Trio, which is touring Spain and Europe with its unique new-tendencies blend of contemporary flamenco, together with Malta's international flamenco artistes Francesca Grima and Jesus Herrera.

The event is supported by the Spanish Embassy. Tickets are available from Agenda Bookshop, Exotique Outlets, Newskiosk and Bookends or online from www.maltaticket.com.
