Thousands of people last night and early this morning celebrated Mnarja in Buskett.

Mnarja - the feast of St Peter and St Paul - is perhaps the most important date in the Maltese folklore diary. Folk singing (Ghana) came to the fore with singing on stages and under the trees in different parts of Buskett, along with folk dancing. Rabbits were for sale, with some of them being cooked and eaten on the spot. The popular agricultural show was held early this morning.

timesofmalta cameramen recorded the scene last night and early this morning while one of the organisers, Noel D'Amato, explains the history and background to the event.

The traditional horse races will be held late this afternoon under Saqqajja hill.
