Undressed mannequins
French President Nicholas Sarkozy is saying that burkas are not welcome on the territory of the French Republic as they are degrading to the women who wear them, while an official in the city of Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon) is prohibiting mannequins wearing underwear to be seen from outside the shops. On the other hand, certain shop owners in Malta are going a step too further; they exhibit mannequins without any attire whatsoever in their shop windows for days on end.
They make you wonder whether any garments are left in the shop to be sold or if they are trying to seep through some sort of message...

@ Ms Betts Walsh - Ehem! I think that Ms Lisa Schembri was commenting tongue in cheek. :-)

Liza, have you ever been to Amsterdam, Paris or London, then i suggest you take a trip and find that people are more open minded and not narrow minded as some who tend to be more provocative then open minded people, work it out for yourself since you know so much about life. i read the papers you know and i don't like people to insult my intelligence, as i say everyone is responsible for their own acts, whatever that entails. Remember people are free to comment but not to suppress others to think or act likewise!

well..with all this heat and humidity..mannequins need some fresh air too... maybe they're more comfy without those nasty nylon garments on...so please excuse the shop owners for the time being.. :P

Yes!! Those mannequins should be arrested for public indecency. SHIELD YOUR EYES MY INNOCENT CHILDREN from this public display of pornographic filth! as you can see from their vacant polymer face, they simply have no shame!! These are the kind of things that promote violence against men and women, drugs...and PRE-MARTIAL SEX!!!!!!!!
The burkas were banned because.
1. Its basically the same as wearing a halloween mask everyday, no one knows who you are.
2. Its degrading to women. Id like to see a man wear a head to toe long sleeve black dress or even head to neck scarf in a heat wave.

For the purposes of case conferences concerning child-abuse, anatomically-correct dolls are used for the child to explain the where and the what. I understand these mannequins are nowhere near anatomically-correct.

Blimey this is pretty serious stuff, it's a good job us Europeans have got nothing else to be concerned about such as rampant immigration and financial crisis etc.

This lady is at it again... some time back she wrote a letter about a letter being delivered in a shop and only the Lord knows what her point was...
Anyhow, bless her. We need someone to alleviate the pressure every now and again.

My goodness, we see so many naked angels in churches, why such a big fuss about naked manequins? Now, if they were real girls that will be more acceptable :))

Shop window dummies do NOT exhibit genitalia. Did you look long enough to notice?
A lot of fuss over a humanoid shaped piece of fibre-glass.

Ms. Barbaro Sant
Adjust your calendar to 2009 for it must still be showing 1909; or earlier still

Oh my goodness. This letter reminds me of what I read about Victorian times, when even tables' legs were covered.
