Colette Sultana, Malta's junior champion, has made it through to the final of the Spanish Junior Open, currently being played in Santiago de Compostela.

Sultana, who turned 14 a few days ago, is competing in the girls' under-15 category. After receiving a 'bye' in the first round, Sultana booked her place in the final after successive wins over Spanish player Sara Trevino and Abby Ingrasia, of the United States.

The Maltese starlet will face Dana Rapisarda, also from the US, in today's gold medal showdown.

This time last year, Sultana clinched the gold medal in the Italian Junior Open and is now hoping to add the Spanish Junior Open to her growing collection of titles.

Sultana is a member of the MOC Centre of Excellence and is receiving support through the MOC Youth Athlete Scheme, Malta Squash and the Marsa Sports Club. She is sponsored by Wilson and coached by Paul Lake.
