Swede 'held up at knifepoint'
A young Swede yesterday turned up at the St Julians police station saying he had been held up and robbed about eight hours earlier.
The 24-year-old alleged he was next to St Rita Steps in Paceville when he was approached by three men armed with a knife at about 4 a.m.
The man, who lives in Sliema, told the police the assailants demanded he withdraw money from a cash machine and made off with €200. Duty Magistrate Michael Mallia launched an inquiry.
The St Julians police and the Criminal Investigation Department are investigating.

Taking up 8 hours to report the case at a police station which is just a few hundred metres away? Smells fishy.
