Local council objections

I refer to the letter by Vincent Agius (June 22). The St Paul's Bay local council has already sent its objection to MMA to the proposed yacht marina at Veċċja, the reasons primarily being that the parking problem in the area would increase, mooring of boats which are currently moored at the jetty, do not have an alternative location allocated for them, and the proposal is too close to the swimming zone.

On the other hand, when the local council receives complaints of the nature mentioned in the same letter, like the hanging up of clothes in balconies, these complaints are forwarded to the local police station for action on their part, as has been done in this case.

In such cases, it is only the police who can take action.
