St George's Bay yesterday became the first Maltese beach to be given the full Blue Flag status, reflecting its high standards in areas such as management, facilities, supervision and water quality. The perched beach in Buġibba has achieved a Blue Flag certificate and Golden Bay has been named a Beach of Quality. The awards all come from Blue Flag International.
