Solar panels installed by the Malta Transport Authority on traffic signs along the diversion routes of the Marsascala road works have been stolen for the second time in as many months.

The first solar panels were stolen in mid-April, a few days after they were installed.

The replacement solar panels and power units were installed only last week.

The ADT deplored these 'senseless actions' and said that for the time being it would not be replacing the stolen panels.

It warned the perpetrators that they would will face criminal proceedings and severe penalties.
