Matthew Fenech was confirmed as president of Qormi FC during the club's annual general meeting which was held recently.

Fenech's sterling contribution helped Qormi retain their Premier League status last season after they won promotion to the top flight for the first time in 2007-08.

The new Qormi committee includes three vice-presidents. These are Silvan Fenech, who will oversee the club's main projects, Redino Apap, who is responsible of the administration and represents the club in the MFA Council, and Victor Apap who is in charge of the nursery.

Meanwhile, Qormi, who have confirmed Jesmond Zerafa as their first-team coach for next season, are currently giving a trial to a Nigerian striker.

Olalekan Junior Alabi, 19, is a product of the Football Academy of English club Millwall and has an English passport.
